The Soldiers Project – Free, confidential mental health therapy for Post 9/11 Veterans & their loved ones.
Bonneville Seattle Media Group (MyNorthwest.com) and their community partners (Seattle Seahawks, Les Schwab Tire Center and Carter Subaru) have chosen The Soldiers Project as their charity of the month!
The Soldiers Project provides free confidential therapy for Post-9/11 Veterans and their loved ones by healing the hidden wounds of war. The Soldiers Project ensures psychological help will always be there.
The Soldiers Project utilizes three different resources in order to ensure help for Veterans: Healing the Hidden Wounds of War, Adopt a College and Veterans Speakers Bureau.
Healing the Wounds of War – This program provides free, confidential, and easily accessible psychological treatment to anyone who has served Post-9/11 and also to their loved ones – when a service member goes to war, their loved ones also face challenges associated with their deployment.
Adopt a College – Returning to college is a daunting task for veterans especially where faculty and administrations are increasingly overwhelmed by the challenge of addressing the needs of this particular student body. By providing education to the faculty as well as a presence on the campus, The Soldiers Project is allowing a positive academic transition for the veteran students.
Veterans Speakers Bureau – The Soldiers Project is looking for veterans who would be comfortable speaking to a group of mental health providers and other members of the community in order to help educate them on current issues facing military service members in regards to mental health, deployments and other various topics.
